Many thanks to our clients for taking the time. It makes it all worthwhile.

Jane Richmond,

We just ended our eight day tour with Grant and Helen Parr of the Highlands. Russell was our driver,  knowledge provider, go for person, entertainer, and friend. We are normally sorry to see a trip end because the vacation is over.  This time we were sorry to see it end because we had to bid farewell to Russ.  He is  a wonderful representative for your company.  You are fortunate to have such an exemplary and loyal employee.  He made our tour enjoyable, educational, and entertaining.  We thank you for providing us with such a professional to enhance our Scottish experience.  I know we look forward to returning to Scotland and will recommend your company and Russell as a driver to friends.  We rate him an 11 on a scale of 10.

Hi John,

Just a quick note from us to say thank you for a great week in Scotland!  We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to your wonderful country, including the castles, the countryside, the cool weather, and of course your driving and commentary.

While we spent most of our time there with you at Isle of Skye, we did make it to St. Andrews on our next to last day, and I got to play "The New Course" as a walk up.  I didn't play that well at golf, but I was glad to be there and the weather on the east side was spectacular.

I'll let Suzan add her comments, but we both remarked about how 'happy' the people are in Scotland.

Thank you once again and I hope you enjoyed your vacation.

All the best to you.

Jane,

I just wanted to get back to you to let you know that we had a fantastic tour through Scotland. Most particularly I want to let you know what a fantastic job Charlie Fox does. He is professional, friendly, knowledgeable and treats people like family. He made our trip the most enjoyable ever. I hope to return to Scotland soon and if I do I will contact you and ask if Charlie Fox could be my guide again. Please know that he represents you in the best possible way.

I also want to thank you for all of your efforts before hand and setting up our tour. We enjoyed every aspect of it and look forward to visiting Scotland again.

Hi Jane

We wanted to express our appreciation for organizing our amazing trip in Scotland. Thank you for all the efforts you did to make this trip the best and most memorable vacation in Scotland.

Also, we would like to thank you for pairing us up with John. Thanks to him the trip and the long drives became even better. He is a interesting guide, Very sociable, The kids and I really enjoyed his company. A very good chemistry was created between us. He made fine tuning to the trip and made it suited to us. I really enjoyed my last night with him in the pub (I would really appreciate if you give him a huge thanks from me)

Dear Jane,

I feel that I must write you to express thanks for all your hard work in organizing all the details for this most memorable trip.

I do want to let you know how we enjoyed the hotels and the activities planned. The Lodge Forest Visitors Center was an absolutely lovely stop for Lizzie & me. It is so well done, we could have spent the entire day there.

I must also say that we so appreciated our driver, Mr Ian Smyth. He was amazingly  helpful, patient, and professional.

Our hotel rooms at Rufflets, Kingsmills Hotel and Melville Castle were just amazing and beautiful with the gardens and grounds. Lizzie was flipping out over the gardens and castles and she was an enthusiastic fan of the beauty of Scotland from St Andrews to the Highlands & everywhere in between. So thank you again for all our arrangements.

Best regards,

Hello Jane,

Our group’s excellent tour guide and driver, James Rae, told us you would like to use a photo taken while we visited Glenfiddich Distillery on your website.   You have our permission and our appreciation for a wonderful vacation – made perfect by having James as our traveling companion!

He made our group of eight feel welcome, comfortable and safe throughout the six days of our Scottish journey.  He was responsive to our wishes and always had great suggestions for restaurants and pubs, as well as stops that were not on our radar, but very enjoyable.  We all felt that we had made a new friend and our journey was richer because he was our guide to your beautiful country.

Yours sincerely,

Jane,

my mother and I have returned home after a wonderful trip and I wanted to make sure you know how much we appreciate all of your efforts to give us this experience. The best thing I ever did was to plan on having a driver which made everything so much easier and gave us the chance to see more and simply marvel at how beautiful Scotland is. John Hind was the perfect match for us and I was very weepy when we had to say goodbye. He was kind, friendly, tuned in to when my mom needed something a bit slower and I loved sitting up front with him and talking.

I have ideas for the next trip for me and know that you will be a part of it.

All my best and gratitude,

Hi Jane,

We finally arrived home here in Bath late yesterday, after a wonderful time in Scotland. Although the sun did not come out until we were on our way back to Inverness airport, the wind and rain did not spoil our experience. We wanted to thank you for your part of our trip. It was well organised and provided exactly what I asked for. Barry got to know the Flow Country, and his presentations in Lairg, Thurso and Inverness were very well received.

In Russell we had a careful and considerate driver, and a welcome travel companion. He truly spoilt us, always with respect but also with humour. We both felt very relaxed in his company, whilst he took great pains never to compromise the client/driver relationship. His hints and tips on what to do after our time with you were very much appreciated and useful.

Jane and Philip Cook were brilliant guides on Orkney. They paid careful attention to the weather and rearranged our programme so that we avoided the worst of the rain, but still saw everything we wanted. The made a good team as they had different strengths. I would recommend this combination if anyone else wants more than one day of guiding.

With the one exception (The West End Hotel on Orkney), our accommodations were excellent, as was the food. The Foveran was great, and if their rooms are of the same standard as the restaurant, this might make an alternative on Orkney if your preferred hotel is full. Just a thought!

Thank you so much for such an efficiently put together package, and when we find a gap in our travel schedules we would love to do the West Coast with you.

Jane,

We have just returned from our trip to Scotland and wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for developing and implementing such a wonderful tour.  It was truly phenomenal!!  We had never done anything like this previously and didn’t really know what to expect but the trip exceeded every expectation and more.   Our Driver, Russell Carter, was Professional, Personable, Knowledgeable, Interesting, Flexible,  Entertaining and Funny.  We simply could not have had a better time.  Our conversations with Russell in the car made the trip extra special and we really were not ready for our time with him to be over.  These conversations became as important as the sites themselves.   He also provided us with information to help us once he left us.  Since he had gotten to know us he knew just what to recommend and provided information so that we could more easily secure transportation for the later parts of our trip.  Our time with Russell concluded we toured Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Yacht and then returned to Paisley where we attended a memorial celebration organized by the Fire Brigade for my Great Grandfather.  Memorable doesn’t do it justice and what you and Russell did made it so very special.

Thank you very much,

Jane,

I was going to wait till I got home to write and tell you how great our trip was. John was a terrific driver and guide. He did many things above and beyond what we expected. An example was driving us to the scene of the witches trial in Outlander. He was a consummate professional and yet our days were always filled with laughter. He shared his love of Scotland which made the tour that much more satisfying. He could and did answer our questions and gave insights into places, and he frequently had little treats for us as surprises. He is a wonderful driver and the trip was excellent!
And you did a great job in setting it up; the places we stayed in were wonderful.  All the arrangements worked and everything met or exceeded our expectations. You set up a wonderful trip for us with fantastic places to stay and great places to visit. Thank you!
Again, we both loved every minute (well, not some of the stairs) of the trip and are so happy to have had John as our driver. I hope to be able to do another trip with you sometime.

Dear Jane

I want to thank you for organizing yet another wonderful trip to Scotland. John is such a wonderful guide and gentleman. He knows all the off the beaten path places to take us and his kindness and humor make the trip. I want to thank you for booking us into the spa suites at Eriska. They are marvelous and I would spend another few days at that hotel if we had the time. The Muckrach Country House was also a find. What a wonderful warm hotel and excellent food.  As usual, everything was perfect and ran smoothly. Thanks again for giving us John for a week. He is truly a treasure. This was our fourth trip with you and hope our next one will be soon. Thanks again.

Jane,

I wanted to thank you so much for all the work you did to make our trip to Scotland unforgettable! The places you chose for us to stay at and dine all exceeded our expectations! Each one seemed better than the last! Kinloch Lodge was absolutely our favorite and the dining experience there was the best of our trip!

Also, I wanted to thank you for giving us the pleasure of spending 5 days with James! He and my son enjoyed many of the same things (golf, whiskey, and cars) so they had much to talk about! I loved getting to know about him and all the insights he had about the places we were seeing! We now consider him a long-time friend and hope to come back to do another visit in the future! Having someone else drive definitely made it a more relaxing for me! We would not have enjoyed this nearly as much without him!

Thank you again and hope to be back for another visit in the near future!

Just back from our third trip to Scotland and each time we discover something new to explore and enjoy!

One of the benefits of traveling end-of-season is that you can have more personal and unrushed experiences: Our thanks to Anna Gray for an amazing tour of Hadrian’s Wall and helping us discover so much history about the ancient Scots and the Romans – not to mention sparking our interest in the Border Reivers. Stopping at Rothiemurchus Estate to feed the deer was an absolutely enchanting experience.  We were lucky to have the head ranger available to give us a private tour. A cancelled ferry forced us to take an abbreviated, whirlwind tour of Lewis and Harris, but Chris Ryan made the most of it and his knowledge of the Outer Hebrides kept us fascinated. Taking a muddy, challenging walk to find the overgrown and almost hidden standing stones near Langass Lodge in North Uist was both eerie and thrilling. An unplanned but timely drive-by of a local farm just in time to watch the sheep being herded by the farm’s border collie was another surprise.  While there are many sheepdog demonstrations available, seeing the work done in a real life situation made it that more special. Our tour of Lismore Island with Robert Smith was worth every minute, despite having to dodge about in the pouring rain.  So much history on this tiny island from Neolithic settlers to Viking invaders to rival clans to modern day fishing.

Once again, Russell Carter, our driver and guide, was a total professional, getting us safely and comfortably to each destination. Equally, he was a warm and funny companion on our adventures.  His sense of humor never left him even when being soaked to the skin (and I mean that literally) during an absolutely insane picnic in the torrential rain. He took terrific care of us and I hope he had some fun along the way.

We have come to love your country.  Thank you for arranging everything so perfectly.

Now that we are home and have a chance to reflect on our tour, we all want to extend a sincere thank you to you and Russell for making our tour so enjoyable. Starting with the planning stages, you were most helpful in recommending sights to see as this was our first trip to Scotland. Our tour guide, Russell, was lovely—always with a smiling face and willing to accommodate our needs. He was very knowledgeable and lots of fun to travel with. I know we threw a couple of unexpected requests at you with last minute, but you nonetheless found a way to accommodate us and the results were terrific. The vehicle was roomy and comfortable, and always stocked with beverages. You have a wonderful country and we highly recommend Chauffeur Tour Scotland to others, and will definitely use them again in future.

Dear Jane,
We are an American family of four beginning our Scotland/Ireland trip! We have never done a private driver before and we’re not sure what to expect!  Russell, turned up at our B&B in Inverness and our adventure began!  He made the trip extra special by his brilliant sense of humor, his patience, his willingness to please us, and his knowledge of the area!  Due to his background, we felt so at ease not only with his driving on the small roads but we were comfortable he could handle any situation!  We can only hope our Irish driver can meet his standards!
We will keep your company in mind for future travels and share your company name with friends and family! Thank you!
P.S. and thank you for Russell!

We are back home.  I had already planned to send you a message regarding our trip. To start with, I don’t know why anyone would tour Scotland and England any other way than with you. Whatever expectations I may have had were completely surpassed. From the beginning, all we could say was “WOW” over and over.  The accommodations were wonderful. The Inn in Oban – loved the setting, charm and history. We enjoyed the uniqueness of Dalhousie Castle. I especially loved Storrs Hall and the setting it is in. Beautiful. I even was allowed to play the antique piano there which was such a thrill for me. The Rubens was perfect in so many ways. We went to see Wicked at the Apollo Theater which was just blocks away. It was ideally located for us and the staff treated us as if we were related to the queen! I am so glad that we kept the Kelpies in our schedule; it was different from what the other ladies thought it would be and loved it. David was very knowledgeable about the England portion of our trip giving us pointers and information when we visited Blenheim Palace (another WOW!) and Windsor Castle and St. George’s Chapel. These places were spectacular and I am so happy you had them on our schedule. I got to see the marker of my ancestor Robert the Bruce’s heart at Melrose Abbey and of course got that picture. Thank you also for working with our group and the time it took to put together our itinerary. You gave us a full itinerary and we enjoyed every minute of it.

I am sure you know this, but Russell Carter is absolutely wonderful. What a lovely surprise and pleasure to have him guiding our tour. From the moment we all met in Edinburgh it was as if we already knew him. So friendly and always a perfect gentleman, he added humor along with his knowledge and professionalism. We all love to laugh and there was a lot of that. We guessed he was looking forward to a little less chatter by the end of his tour portion but for us it was like saying good-bye to  a really good friend. There were so many  moments from this tour that will always remind me of the best vacation I have ever taken -  except for my honeymoon in Hawaii. Rest assured that I and the others will happily recommend your tour to my friends.

PS  Please convey our appreciation to both Russell and David for their part in making our tour so memorable.

I just wanted to send a thank you for the wonderful trip you helped us put together in Scotland and England. I personally have traveled quite a bit throughout the world but never on a chauffeur tour.  I love a fast pace trip and that was what we got.  I appreciated the professionalism regarding the hotel issue.  It turned out to be one of our best nights as we took Russel up on a recommended restaurant that had good food and entertainment.  Thank you for your prompt resolution. Russel was a delight!  He went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of in every way.  The added benefit was his sense of humor. It was easy to tell that he enjoyed his job and loved his country. He quickly became one of us rather than just a guide.  We gave him a hard time and he threw it back at us, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

I don’t even know how to thank you for fulfilling my life-long dream to visit the Isle of Skye and specifically, Dunvegan Castle.  It may have taken 41 years, but I finally made it there.  I was 15 years old when I read a book with vivid descriptions of Skye.  I just re-read the book and somehow you created an itinerary that included all the places my book mentioned.  Skye was breathtaking and we were able to spend four and a half hours at Dunvegan Castle and Gardens.

Another thing you could not have improved upon was our driver/guide (and hopefully friend) Russell.  He was the textbook definition of a perfect gentleman from the moment he met us at the airport in his dapper three-piece suit until he dropped us off at our last hotel annex.  His professionalism is a great asset to your company.  His wealth of knowledge and amazing sense of humor both educated and amused us.  We were laughing for two weeks.

The trip you planned for my sister and I to the Highlands and Islands was wonderful.  Not having the time constraints of a traditional tour suited us perfectly, as we enjoy savoring our surroundings.  I am currently planning our next vacation to Scotland (Harris, Lewis and Orkneys) and would not trust any other company to provide such spectacular service.  I am recommending Chauffeur Tour Scotland to all my friends and looking forward to doing business with you in the future.

With deepest thanks,

We all LOVED our Scottish adventure and extend our greatest regard and gratitude to Chauffeur Tour Scotland for making it possible.  Our family group—6 adults and 1 young child—rode in style and comfort in the CTS luxury van, with John at the wheel.  John is not only an excellent driver on those narrow, curvy Scottish roads, he was also knowledgeable in finding lunch and comfort stops. Great sense of humor, too!  He kept cold water and snacks stocked, which was handy when we were stopped for 2 hours by a vehicle accident ahead with no alternate route around.

As Outlander fans, we loved the castles and palaces used in filming the series, many of which are on the Historic Scotland Explorer Pass that Jane recommended and obtained for us:  Doune, Blackness, Linlithgow, Aberdour, Craigmillar.  Jane also obtained advanced tickets for us at Culloden Battlefield and Culross Palace.

If you want to do the Outlander route, don’t miss the Georgian kitchen at Callendar House or the Highland Folk Museum or Dean Castle—like many Scottish venues, they are free!  Working with Jane, we were able to add other Outlander sites to our itinerary, such as Hopetoun House, Midhope Castle and Drummond Castle Gardens.

Beyond Outlander, we were able to fit in wish list sites, like Balmoral and Inveraray Castles, and the Orkney Islands. The Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway excursion was a fun change of pace.  I’ve not even listed all the wonderful places we explored on our 9 day itinerary + 2 days on our own in Glasgow.

Jane’s B & B choices were superb: comfortable, well located, and economical. We did experience a couple glitches (unrelated to CTS), but Jane resolved them quickly and efficiently. Her customer service is exemplary.  This was our second booking with Chauffeur Tour Scotland, and we’re already thinking about the third!  Thank you Jane and John!

Dear Jane,

It’s hard to believe that you could outdo the wonderful vacation you planned for us last year, but this year surpassed our expectations.   While we approached visiting Orkney and the NC500 with an open mind, aware we were going off the well-trod tourist route, we never expected to be rewarded on so many fronts.

First, thank you for your patience with my questions and the intricacies of planning a two week road trip.  The hotels were superb and the locations were charmingly remote, and the food fantastic. You make everything seamless and we were totally carefree, knowing all was in order.

Our trip to Orkney was amazing.  It would not have been as enjoyable without the help of our local guide David Drever.  His knowledge of the islands was encyclopedic.  There wasn’t a bend in the road that he didn’t have a historical footnote to share with us. His warmth and sense of humor added to make this a special part of our trip.

The NC500 certainly lived up to its reputation as one of the world’s best driving routes.  We were fortunate to be able to take it slow and savor the wonderful scenery and stop and wander about out of the way places.   If I can give a shout out for Scotland’s tourism, I would recommend making this journey as well as exploring the outer islands a priority.

Our trip would not have been so successful if it weren’t for our driver, Russell Carter.  On the professional level, Russell went out of his way to research the areas we would be visiting and made sure we got everywhere we needed to be on time and in one piece.  Not only was he a terrific and safe driver, he never batted an eyelid when driving along the cliff-side of single-track roads.   On the personal level, our experience was enriched by his good-natured companionship.  He had enormous patience when humoring our every whim, whether it was chasing after wildlife or taking photos in 60 mile hour winds, or letting us dip our toes in the freezing North Sea.  I know we kept him amused and there were days when we just laughed non-stop.  That to me is the sign of a successful vacation.  I hope the burden of taking care of three crazy American ladies (aka “the Dafties”) hasn’t forced him into a rest home!

We enjoyed Scotland so much, we all had one thought on the way home - what did we miss?  So many islands to visit, so much whisky to try, we may just have to come back!

We just want to let you know how impressed we are with Russell. He was fun to be with, very helpful and knowledgeable and most of all he was professional. We appreciated his flexibility, suggestions, and  patience answering all of our questions. His professionalism stood out in many ways, but was most appreciated when we had a problem with one of our hotels and he had come in to be sure that everything was OK. When it wasn't he quickly got on the phone and within 5 minutes it was resolved. Needless to say the car was soo... comfortable

.

We had just come from a similar trip and Ireland and there was NO comparison.

Thank you for your professional service!

Dear Jane,

Although having never met, or even talked, I feel as if you are my most caring friend. I cannot express my deepest gratitude for coordinating my 70th birthday dream vacation in Scotland. As my husband likes to say of our trip “it was magical.” John Hind, our driver and now friend, made every day an exploration of Scottish wonder. Without a doubt the entity of Scotland -the scenery, food, people, hotels, and historic castles and places - created in our minds a treasured, and lasting memory. We thank you with the entirety of our hearts. You are a great coordinator of all that is the best in Scotland. Thank you also for the celebratory champagne at our last stop, Edinburgh. Reminiscing about our trip and drinking champagne was a perfect ending to a glorious trip. You will have our highest recommendation to any friends venturing into the land of castles and kings – SCOTLAND!

Jane ...on behalf of the Alfieri family who visited Scotland for the 1st time two weeks ago, I am writing to tell you what an absolute great time we had , in short the trip exceeded all our expectations and specifically I could not imagine a better driver, guide, and chauffeur than Russell. He was incredibly professional at all times, even I could not talk him out of wearing the 3 piece suit. He was very knowledgeable about every where we were going, and really very personable with my family making everyone feel at ease all the time which is not very easy to do with most people. He was the perfect ambassador of Scotland for us... we really enjoyed his company and he was the second reason it was a great vacation all around especially for me as I am usually the one driving and planning everything , the first reason is Scotland (and all the sights we crammed into 6 days)  itself exceeded our expectations as well.
I would strongly recommend Russell to anyone , I would use him again without hesitation the next time I am in Scotland.

Dear John, Miss you already. Just wanted you to know we got home safely with only a 30 minute delay and our luggage all came home with us. Karen and I had such an amazing trip.  Nearly everything exceeded my expectations. the only thing I did not care too much for was the Jacobite train.  I think that was partly because our seats were all separated- not even in same car. You were such a big part of making our trip fantastic.  We will always be grateful and always remember you fondly. I am so grateful you got us to Doune Castle .That was unexpected but so welcome. I was thrilled. We also loved the Clootie Well.  I was just finishing an Outlander book today and they mentioned Beauly Priory- wow, we were just there!!!

Please extend our appreciation to Jane for the dinner on our last night . It was excellent and such a nice finish to our trip. Despite a rocky start, it was a fantastic trip that I will remember forever. Also, let your wife know, we appreciate that she shared you with us to get us to the airport on Saturday.

My wife and I wish to thank you and your team for our recent tour.  Our guide, Robert Craig, was superb.  His knowledge of the sights, sites, and history was outstanding.  His calm and easy-going manner made for an excellent experience; he informed and explained patiently without lecturing,  He is a wonderful ambassador for you.  The lodgings you provided were superb with top quality amenities, great service, and sumptuous dining.  The private garden at Culloden House was icing on the cake.  We truly appreciate the flexibility provided in the itinerary as well.  We most definitely wish to return to see more of your beautiful country, and when we do, we most assuredly will be in contact for your services.

I wanted to drop you a quick note to tell how much my family (two sisters, niece and nephew) and I enjoyed our tour of the Highlands of Scotland with Russell as our guide!! He was top notch in every respect! We learned so much about the country, saw so many beautiful sites that Russell recommended, and got to know what a great guy he is! He went out of his way to make sure all of us were happy and saw what we wanted to see. He is at the highest level of professionalism and I would highly recommend this tour or any tour of Scotland with your company and with Russell in particular. When I return to see more of the beautiful country, I will reach out to you.

Thanks for the great trip and please relay to Russell how much we all enjoyed seeing Scotland with him as our guide!

My brother, Perry Siatis, hired your company for a private tour in Scotland. Russell was our tour guide and I wanted to let you know that he was an excellent tour guide.  I was very impressed with his knowledge and willingness to research any information that he didn't know or that we requested.  This included where we could find traditional Scottish music, a music store, and an art store.  He was entertaining and extremely pleasant at all times.  He is definitely a five star guide and I would highly recommend him to all.

My daughter, Victoria, and I were with my sister, her son, and our brother (Perry Siatis) last month and used your service to tour the Highlands.  I wanted to take a moment and let you know about the exceptional service that Russell (I can't remember his last name) gave our family as he drove us around the highlands.  He was friendly, courteous, and accommodated our every whim and need!  He knew the history of Scotland and provided us with a lot of interesting information, which made our tour so much more fun! For those 3 days, he became part of our family :)  It was the best way to see Scotland, and we can't wait to come back someday and seeing more of your beautiful country!

Thank you so much for helping us make wonderful memories!

Thanks again so much!

Just a quick note to say how much Judy and I enjoyed our two days of car tours out of Edinburgh.  Our driver/guide, Bob Craig, was wonderful.  He really made the trip memorable.  He was prompt, flexible and a pleasure to be with.  His knowledge and feedback during the trips was great and really added to the experience.

The car was pleasant and comfortable.  Really glad we found your service.

All the best.

John,

This thank you is long overdue!  Please know that I had planned to write to you immediately after our return to Florida, but my focus has been on Dad, who has been dealing with several health problems.

I will never forget how wonderful you were to Dad - watching over him.  Once he fell, you looked after him with even more care, if that was possible!  We would never have been able to continue with our tour were it not for you. You should know that even with the health problems Dad has been experiencing, he has nothing but wonderful memories from the trip! He posted many of his favorite photos on his Facebook timeline - and he talks about his "Scottish adventure" all of the time!

Although I am a writer, there are simply no adequate words to thank you.  Thanks to your professionalism, your fabulous sense of humor, and your enormous heart and sense of humanity, Dad and I will always remember our time with you in the Highlands and Islands. Dad's injuries are now finally on the mend - and he remains as upbeat and positive and life-embracing as he was on the trip.  What an inspiration.  He means the world to me.  (But I think you could tell that!)

Thank you again, John.  I truly hope that I will be able to see you again some day soon and enjoy your travel expertise.  You are a magnificent guide!

Kind regards,

I'm in Paris right now....just connecting with Paula and Carol ... what an unbelievable-fantastic-magical trip you planned for them.  They can't stop raving about how wonderful their entire experience was! Of course, I had researched all similar offerings on the web and all 3 of us are VERY happy to have chosen the best!

From what my daughters tell me, I wouldn't be surprised to learn James also walks on water. They're still bubbling over with awe at how he added so much to the trip with his caring ways and great sense of humor.  You're lucky to have such a wonderful ambassador. Thank you for all you did, Jane.  It was everything I had hoped for... and quite a lot more.

This is our long overdue thank you for a wonderful tour guided by John.  John went above and beyond what we might have asked or expected.  First of all - he is an excellent driver and quite a gentleman.  He was prepared with suggestions, adjusted and researched other ideas during his evening "off" hours.  He delighted Dale with his interest in geology and their many conversations while traveling.  He had suggestions on restaurants, short stops when time was limited and he shared with us many stories about places in Scotland that left us wanting to return.  Thank you again for your wonderful hospitality.

May you all have a wonderful and successful New Year.

I am a little late in writing this, but I wanted to let you know that we thoroughly enjoyed our chauffeur John on our trip to Scotland in September.  He was always on time, and had such a great personality – he represents your country well!  He seemed genuinely concerned on whether we were having a good time or not, and was always trying to make sure we were pleased.  Very knowledgeable and entertaining. Such a great guy - makes me want to go to Glasgow next time I go to Scotland to meet more Weejuns!

I second everything Sharon said. Just a joy to be around and a great safe driver.

We totally enjoyed our time in Scotland and a huge part of that was because of James. He is the best. We laughed for 6 days. His suggestions that were "out of the box", and not on our itinerary, were some of the best things we did. That last night at the castle was amazing.
Thanks for all your work in setting this up for us.
Take care.....

Dear Jane,

I needed to take a few days to let the jet lag dissipate from my brain before writing you.  First and foremost, I wanted to tell you that our trip was absolutely fantastic and I can’t thank you enough for how seamless and worry-free everything was. From arranging our fabulous hotels, to booking  dinner reservations, and getting tickets to events, everything went like clockwork.  As you may have intuited from my pre-trip emails, I tend to over-worry about details and strive for perfection.  But by the end of the first day, I knew your organizational talents were superb and right on the mark, so I was able to just sit back, relax and let the trip unfold.

Secondly, and equally important was how terrific our driver, John Hind was.  For a man who had the responsibility of keeping us on the move and entertained for 13 days, he was a pro.  His good humor, patience, not to mention driving skills, never flagged over the two weeks he was with us.  We immediately felt at ease with him and felt we were in good hands.  He was always on time, drove us to the front door at each destination so we wouldn’t have to walk far, and always picked us up where and when he said he would.  In short, we were very protected and coddled by a consummate gentleman.  In turn, we bedeviled and teased him good naturedly the entire trip but I hope he was as entertained by it as we were.  Honestly, I can’t remember a vacation where I laughed so much every day.  Truly a wonderful and joyful experience.

We are already planning to come back next year!  Again, many, many thanks for providing us with a wonderful vacation experience.

We have just completed a five day touring experience through Scotland and the Lake District in England with Kenny and just wanted to share with you that it was fantastic!  Kenny has wonderful enthusiasm and was well informed in sharing history and highlights during our time with him. We feel like we have known him forever and would definitely recommend him and will request him when we return to Scotland!  We also loved the Mercedes van, it was roomy and incredibly comfortable!  Thank you for putting together a wonderful itinerary!  We will always fondly remember this beautiful experience!

Jane,

We had a fabulous time despite the weather! Kenny was like connecting with an old friend.  The tour has been one of the highlights of our trip.  Every detail was attended to. Kenny had great suggestions for other sites as we headed up to Inverness. We loved the Busy Bee lunch stop in particular!

Thank you so much for your help and please give Kenny our regards.

Just a short note in appreciation of our recent trip to Scotland. The itinerary was well paced, the hotels were all wonderful, even though the rooms in a couple of the hotels needed to be changed, but we finished on a high note at Prestonfield, where we were upgraded to a suite for our three days there and everything was first class. John, our driver, was fantastic, he blended in well and added to the enjoyment of the trip. Great choice! No hesitation in using your services again or recommending you to fellow travellers heading to Scotland.

Kenny,
Having arrived home last night, safe and sound from our long journey, I want to take a few minutes to thank you once again for the wonderful guided tour you provided us with in your beautiful country. The inclement weather we experienced for a few days did nothing to dampen our appreciation for the natural beauty of the country and the genuine warmth of its people. You are a wonderful ambassador of Scotland, and Roxana and I, as well as the rest of the group, agree that your role contributed heavily to the wonderful time had by all.

Hope to see you one day in Panama.

I want to thank you again for the wonderful Scottish vacation. This has been our third tour with you and they keep getting better and better. John is amazing. He added stops to our tour after he figured out what types of venues that we liked and he was always right. You are so blessed to have John working with you.  He made us feel like one of the family and was humorous, informative and patient. John showed us Glasgow as only someone who loves his city could do. Iona was amazing. John had suggested that we add that to our tour and he was so wise. The Isle of Eriska Hotel was a once in a lifetime experience. The service, the accommodations, and the food were impeccable. Jane, I thank you again for all your work, experience, and wonderful staff. Please tell John how much we loved meeting him and having him be our guide. We hope to return soon to Scotland and will be in touch for our next tour.
Thanks again.

My son Chris and I did the chauffeured tour with John from Edinburgh to Glasgow - we loved it – it was truly a great time – the places where we stayed were very enjoyable – John is a great tour guide – he was fun and very interesting – thank you for putting together such an enjoyable time – I would like to do another tour some time.

I just wanted to drop a line saying how much my mother, Lynn, and I enjoyed our recent tour with John Hind. We loved Scotland and the Highlands, and John was a great guide to introduce us to the beauties and wonders of the place. We loved our time with John. He is a careful driver, a great storyteller and a kind man. We would travel with John again, and very well may!

I would like to thank you and Bob for another lovely holiday in Scotland. We had a great time and once again we were blessed with some good weather. You selected wonderful hotels - Prestonfield was out of this world as was The Pierhouse and Knock Castle - the food in these hotels being some of the best we have ever had. Bob was a great guide and driver and made our holiday special with his knowledge and kindness. You have a great team.

Jim was our driver and guide in Edinburgh and in Perthshire. We had an absolutely wonderful time! He was very personable, witty and engaging, patient and informative. He provided valuable guidance on all fronts, including steering us to great places to eat and advising us on safety measures while traveling. Jim was always certain that we were comfortable, and all our needs were addressed. He was an excellent driver who was able to maintain his sunny and outgoing disposition even when other drivers were undisciplined and interfered in our progress. In short, Jim enhanced the quality of our trip greatly and we were grateful to have him as our guide. We would recommend him highly to anyone considering a trip to Scotland.

We want to thank all of you for the professional care and planning that you provided us for our tour. We are completely satisfied and impressed at the quality and standards of the arrangements and accommodations we had. Scotland offered us its finest bonny weather every day; no muddy bits on our shoes. We were so lucky! Every trip detail was executed without a hitch. We did miss the Edinburgh Castle tour since our plane was delayed on arrival, but we were ok with that. We had the absolute best seats for the Military Tattoo! Wow! All our flights were perfect.

The hotels and lodges were all so beautiful. The Hotel Indigo does not allow close parking, so we were required to walk a ways for transport by our drivers. We loved the hotel though. The Loch Kinord was very quaint and lovely, but the rooms were small and not a comfortable bed for two tall people. Lovely setting though. We had to change rooms at the Glenspean Lodge due to an odor in the room, but the room was beautiful and comfy with a view of the hills. All our meals were exquisite and people were so kind to us. We had a perfect mix of destinations.

Our driver Jim Hunter is a wonderful gentleman with a great sense of humor. He was always punctual, spontaneous, adventurous, and very accommodating. He took good care of us and kept us safe. It was obvious he had done his homework for the trip and offered a number of interesting destinations added to our itinerary. There was no lollygagging in our trio! We often asked Jim to join us for tours to fully enjoy his knowledge and humor. We would refer anyone to use your services and would love to take another trip in the future. We will keep you in mind. Thank you so very much!

Jim and I have had a wonderful time (with one day left)!!! You have done a magnificent job.  We have enjoyed everything.
As tomorrow is our last day with John (an absolute delight, by the way), Jim and I wanted to ask what is the custom in terms of doing something for John? What do you recommend in terms of a gratuity? He has made the tour so easy and without hiccup, we should like to do something for him to say thank you. Of course, you deserve a big THANK YOU as well.  Am so pleased I stumbled upon your company. You have fulfilled all our expectations.

If I may serve as a reference for prospective clients or if you would like me to pen a testimonial for your website, please let me know. All I can say is BRAVO!!!

Dear John,

We would like to thank you so much for a wonderful Scotland experience - you've done a fabulous job, quickly assessing our wants and desires and helped us in oh so many ways.

Your 'devilishly' fun personality and passion for people was clear to us almost immediately and made our time together quite memorable and so positive. We had an absolute blast. You and your country are fabulous. We wish you all the best, you and your family a safe and joyous holiday and offer an invitation should you ever end up in southern California some day.

This letter is long overdue  but ” better late than never” as we say  in the States. We, both myself and my son J.D. (James Douglas) had the trip of our lives. I was asked by my family, where  would be my preference if I were ever to travel overseas. The answer was simple, I always wanted to visit Scotland first and Ireland second. I’m sure that part of this reasoning is because all of my family, all branches, can be traced to Scotland, Ireland and England.Again, it was the trip of our lives and your company made it much more enjoyable. Just know from when we were picked up at the Edinburgh airport till the very end our trip, everything was perfect. The main reason we are writing you this letter is to let  you know that Robert (Rob) Craig had everything to do with the enjoyment and success of our trip. He was extremely professional, at the same time very cordial and personable. He certainly is not only a very good representative for your company but as far as myself and J.D. are concerned, a great ambassador for Scotland. You could not do any better than Rob, he is the best. We plan on coming back to Scotland to see more of your beautiful country in the near future. There is no doubt we will be contacting you directly to see if Rob is available. Our most memorable part of the trip was Scotland and Rob had everything to do with the enjoyment we had in your country. Myself and J.D. appreciate everything, just make sure you let Rob know we are asking for him and will see him again.

Choosing a tour operator for a once in a lifetime trip is hard work! Luckily we found Jane and John! Jane chose a perfect itinerary for our Scotland journey. We gave her some things we were interested in and she planned our adventure perfectly. She was completely flexible when we changed the category of hotel relativity last minute as well as organizing on the go accommodation changes per our wishes! Jane really knows how to put together a tour, it ran seamlessly.

Where do I start with John.. We loved him!! He was everything you could want in a tour guide, Friendly, knowledgeable and safe. He treated us like both respected guests and family. As two single ladies traveling together, we had a great gentleman looking out for us. He kept us in just the right kind of trouble! John knew Scotland like the back of his hand, I never had to crack my tour book!! He took us to special places from his childhood, and shared his enthusiasm for his country. We learned tons of Glaswegian sayings, toasts and great phrases to be cherished forever. He also provided a selection of Scottish music, which evokes the special character of the regions where we traveled. Upon our departure, there were tears... But hopefully it was until we meet again, because John is now family.

I want to thank you for a wonderful trip. The choice of hotels and restaurants is difficult to beat, and the itinerary perfect. We travelled almost by clockwork, never missing a scheduled visit, and enough time to relax between one site and the next. Best of all was caring  and ever so cheerful John. We are going to miss him and just as we were getting to understand his slight accent.

We have had a wonderful trip in every sense of the word. Your organization and care for detail made it so. Leroy Watson couldn't have said it better. Also, John is a fantastic driver and guide and was super attentive to our needs. Thank you for showing the best of Scotland. Needless to say Cromlix House is amazing ! We are so happy here, only wish we could stay some extra days ! Will be sorry to leave tomorrow.

Most Americans find the idea of traveling abroad and driving a rental car through the countryside to be incredibly romantic. I find that to be incredibly impractical. If we had done this in Scotland, I am quite certain my group would have never made it out of the airport. I find the romance in seeing every bit of Scottish history possible, in a week, and having our own personal tour guide along the way.

Robert Craig made our vacation more amazing than I could've possibly imagined. He was professional, courteous, protective, witty, intelligent and… well, patient. I imagine giving 5 women a week long driving tour is the equivalent of putting a 3-piece suit on a squirrel, but he did this with charm and grace. I am incredibly grateful for his knowledge of the sites, his driving skills, the way he checked every site/restaurant/hotel (he told us it was to make sure there was room, but I am guessing he was doing so to ensure it was clean and safe) his suggestions on added stops to our schedule (all of which were perfect), and his consummate professionalism.

Also, the touring van was excellent – incredibly comfortable with plenty of room. Thank you for organizing this truly memorable experience.

We can't thank you enough for the wonderful time we had in Scotland! We enjoyed 10 days in your beautiful country, but it wasn't enough. Jane was a pleasure to work with from my first contact with her throughout our entire stay in the UK.  She did an excellent job suggesting an itinerary that would work around my requests and arranging tickets for the Tattoo, Jacobite Train, Loch Ness cruise and various castles.  When I let her know that we would like to spend a few days in England, she made all of our arrangements for that as well.  She set us up with another great driver/guide in England, David Stubbs.  It was so nice to be able to work with one person for two separate tours.

Jane has great drivers!! Kevin was friendly and so nice when he met us at the airport and took us to our hotel.  He was understanding and waited patiently at the airport while we filled out paperwork for our missing luggage.

I can't begin to express how much we enjoyed the 8 days we spent with Bob Craig as our driver! Bob is a fun, yet very professional driver/guide with a wealth of knowledge of Scotland and its history. Besides following the itinerary, he took us to a few other places he thought we would enjoy.  He also suggested places/things for us to do when we had spare time.  As a group of 6 women, we appreciated Bob making us feel comfortable and safe the entire time we were with him.  He escorted us to all of the sites and attractions, making sure our tickets/seats were in order.  When he checked us into our hotels, he always made sure that we had everything we needed for the night, before heading to his own accommodations.   He was very prompt picking us up at the arranged times, he waited for us not the other way around.  Bob is an all-around gentleman and great guy!

We were very impressed with the way Jane monitored things throughout our tour, making room changes and dinner reservations as needed and even notifying Bob of traffic conditions that might become an issue.  Jane and her drivers definitely work together as a team making sure everything goes smoothly!

We would highly recommend Chauffeur Tour Scotland to anyone looking to take a private, individualized tour of Scotland, no matter the length.

We are now back home, (got back late last night). Previously we have done individual trip planning and group tours but this is the first time we did a private personal tour. It will not be the last, your planning and the private drivers were great. I would highly recommend your service to anybody doing Scotland.

I would definitely use Bob Millar, our driver in Scotland, again. He was absolutely fantastic. If I ever do Scotland again, I’d want him. Based on some of his knowledge of the areas we traveled, (he knew restaurants, points of interest, etc.), we customized the tour even more. He was great. While visiting the Queens View, he mentioned Blair Castle might be a good consideration. From his description, we decided to try it. It was fantastic. The inside was a great, better contents than any other and the history inside was great. We spent more time in there than anywhere else. My daughter-in-law loved the gardens, she must have spent an hour in the gardens alone. On our last day, (going to Ayr), we were again running behind schedule because we were have a good time with the sights and spending more time than probably was planned but Bob didn’t care. “As long as you’re having a good time”. He indicated the hotel was a good walk from most restaurants, (other than the hotel restaurant), so he suggested a stop in a neighboring town for a meal at a seaside restaurant he knew before going to the hotel even though that would keep him driving later. Best meal we had all 2 weeks.

I want to restate: Your planning and the private drivers were great. I would highly recommend your service to anybody doing Scotland.

Well sadly we are in London! We miss Scotland already. Just want you to know our trip was fantastic. Bob is a wonderful driver and absolute great guy..he is truly a gem and a professional person. My husband was happy to ride in the front seat and talk to Bob and their personalities fit perfectly... Kirsten was amazing at guide work, and a very nice person also...definitely a terrific person with tons of knowledge. I think that girl knows every road and rock in all of Scotland. She really is a keeper. You had two of the best persons that we could ever have wished for taking excellent care of us. We liked everything we did and every place we went. Our hotels were great, and our meals excellent. Bob and Kirsten recommended good spots for those restaurants not included...and they picked great luncheon spots too.
Thank you for an A+ time. This was the best trip ever! My best birthday present in all of my 70 years!
Thank you so much...and our best to Bob and Kirsten.

I thought I would take a minute and thank you so much for our tour of Scotland. Cameron House should not be missed. It was a magical place with true five star treatment.  I would suggest the clay pigeon shooting to anyone.  Our instructor and his farm were the highlights of our trip. Our hotel in Glasgow is also a repeat for our next trip. Scone Palace was also amazing even in the early early spring. Again, it was the best to have Bob with us on our journey.  His insight into our travels made our trip. We look forward to seeing him in the future.  Wish we knew our vacation schedule for 2015 so we could book our next trip right now.  Thank you again for all you did to make this extremely special.

Now that we have had time to return home and get caught up a bit, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for the wonderful vacation that you had planned for Christine and I.

We had such a great time, and greatly appreciate your kind gestures celebrating our 30 year wedding anniversary.  The engraved bottle of whiskey and the rose petals on our bed at the Balmoral were so thoughtful and much appreciated.  We truly enjoyed our time with John who was so professional, personable, thoughtful and informative. You could not have chosen a better driver / guide for our stay. I don't have an email address to contact John, so please pass along our great appreciation for his time taking such good care of us.

We thoroughly enjoyed the castle tours, boat rides, Scottish evening and tour of Edinburgh with John Duncan.  Scotland is a beautiful country with incredibly friendly people, and it was your planning and little extra touches that made our anniversary trip memorable. I don’t know if we could specify our favorite hotel or favorite excursion since everything was so perfect!

Thank you very, very much once again. I hope to do business with you and John again in the near future.

PS: Please inform John that I did indeed try Haggis during the Scottish evening. It was not as bad as I had thought it would be, but I still wouldn’t order it as a meal. John would be so proud of me though!

As we wait at Edinburgh airport for our flight back to London, I wanted to thank you and your team for organising our Scottish tour, we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and for 3 out of 4 of the group this was the first time in Scotland. We were impressed that everything ran as clockwork. Bob was a very professional driver and excellent representative for your company, please thank him on our behalf.

Our tour was just about right enough time to explore the locations without too much hurrying between locations. The only thing I believe we may change if we did the trip again was to stay 2 nights at the Inverlochy Castle, as the location and hotel was wonderful. The Edradour distillery tour was certainly a highlight for both whiskey drinkers and non-drinkers.

Again thank you for making our trip memorable, we celebrated our 40th and 30th wedding anniversaries in style and go away with some wonderful memories.

We would certainly be more than happy to recommend your firm for future tours to our friends and family.

We just spent a week on our tour with Bob Craig as our guide. He was terrific. Bob was professional, yet friendly and incredibly informative. I could not ask for any better guide during our visit. When we return to Scotland, we would love to call your company and use Bob again as our guide, (if he would have us, after a week with our bad jokes.) You are incredibly lucky to have such a wonderful employee. Scotland was all that we imagined and much much more. Our trip was made more memorable because of the amazing plan that you set out for us - not a day went by without us seeing some new facet of that amazing land that you call home. Our trip was made doubly memorable with John entertaining us and keeping us organized along the way. I am really glad that we did St. Andrews and didn't go back to Edinburgh which we had already seen. In the end-many many thanks for all that you did to make my family and I have one of our best holidays. It will be a trip that we shall cherish for a long time. I shall be troubling you again soon as I don't think there is a better place to be in the summers than in your land and under your care.
Many thanks to you and your team and if you see John please tell him Hello from our side. I am sure he is regaling some other fortunate people on a trip through gods own country.
